25-5-05 - A Fond Farewell to Member of the m1r Family

After over three years with the band as a founding member, Fiw has decided it's time to move on.  We've had a brilliant time with him and last weekend at NABD 14 Bikers Rally was a fantastic way to close a great relationship.  Fiw, from all of us, we love you and we'll miss you being onstage with us.  You'd better be in the crowd though!  Love from Lee, Trace and Rob. x

21-3-05 - YGG Unsigned 2005 Final

On Friday night minusoneraver had one of the best gigs of their career to a sold out, 800 capacity Palace nightclub in the final of YGG Unsigned 2005, and narrowly missed out on the top spot by only 5 votes!  They did wander away with a respectable 2nd place and a cash prize that was rapidly converted into a shiny new power amp for their studio.

Thanks to the hordes of minusoneraver fans who came down and made the night so fantastic for the band.

History

minusoneraver formed in the early part of 2001.  The original line-up had Iain as chief guitarist and songwriter, and Dilek on vocals. Fiw was the big bassman and Lee was on the drums.   Iain disappeared to wander the outback of Oz and Dilek moved on to pastures new.

Just when it looked like the band had died before it had begun, Fiw saved the day by introducing us to Trace the trippy tree.  Rob then replaced Iain to form the current line-up.

In the latter half of 2002 Iain returned with handfull of songs, a smile on his face and a hat full of corks. His return was soon followed by his first experience of minusoneraver, and his first hearing of Hangin' for Fame
played to an audience.

"They're the best band I've ever heard in my entire life!" he was not quoted as saying.

Iain has now taken the role as an additional songwriter within the band, and combined with the rest of M1R's creative talents, the 'raver are going from strength to strength.

Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Skunk Anansie, Alanis Morisette, REM, The Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, the Dandy Warhols, The Rolling Stones and of course, The Cheeky Girls.
