Shaun Ryder's EP recommendation 9/4/04

"Just as we thought it could not get any better 'Minusoneraver' took to the stage. This band were not going to give up without a fight, the crowd moved forward in anticipation, the wanted to touch the Goddess of Rave. The female lead vocalist has the voice of an Angel which can be combined with a full on Rock sound. The use of acoustic guitar combined with a full on electric sound and added to with a dash of Keyboards make this band unmissable live as well as on CD. They combine ballads with full on Rock numbers with equal skill and perception. The band were very unlucky not to make it to the final in a decision which they narrowly missed by a handful of votes. They are definitely one to watch out for in the future and must be tipped for success. You can catch more information about minusoneraver on their site www.minusoneraver.com"

Tony Hennigan, The Palace, 22nd February 2004.

"First up was the band MinusOneRaver. In previous times they had performed strongly and fully deserved their place in the Final. Having been given the "Wildcard" from all the previous bands from Bands Directory, they were to play against Monokey who they had 2 weeks recently been beaten by. The band played their hearts out and even sounded more aggressive tonight. Something that had never gone against them in previous stages, and maybe not a conscience move, but seemed very evident. Tracey Browne's voice was great again but this time her stage performance stood out from her previous. More movement, more of a frontwoman, more of an interaction which was amazing as most of their people had been caught up in the power cut. As a whole, the band performed their best so far and are gonna soon be band on many people's shelves. " - Bandsdirectory.net 10-9-03

"In ‘Into The Sun’, Minusoneraver have managed to combine a mix of dreamy vocals and a groovy bass riff with other mesmerizing sounds to create a truly hypnotic and melodious tune that the band should certainly be proud of.
Less seems to be more with this song, with the simplistic drumming, guitar and bass taking a much welcomed back seat to the quite outstanding range of female singer Tracey Browne, who manages to put on a very inspiring performance."
- Jamie Mack - mydeadflower.com - 13th March 2003.
"Congratulations to Minusoneraver who have realised the power of the maxim 'less is more': here we have dreamy female vocals cloaked in a fragmented yet funky bass line and subtly serrated guitars and barely-there keyboards. Marvelous."  - Radio 1 Online, 2nd December 2002
"This [Deadbeat Town] is a brilliantly written track not least because of the drums that just work so well. This band has serious potential and will sit happily on a radio 1 play list in a year to come or possibly sooner with the release to their first EP coming soon. " The Communion, 3rd March 2003.
“minusoneraver is one of the most cohesive units I have ever had the pleasure to encounter.” – Stew Spaull, Editor, Student direct. – 10th October 2002.

"minusoneraver - Manchester stalwarts of melancholic melodic music." - Gareth, Precinct Online - 20th August 2002.

"..a pretty tidy pop song. Tracey Browne sings a little bit Echobelly, a little bit Blondie, pinning the song together with her impressive range and easy command. The chorus is sheer quality - harking back to early 90s guitar rock - smooth and unhurried, letting the singer do the work, never pushing too hard."

Jon, Reviewer, Stolenwine - 3rd August 2002.

"M1R gave us the best set of the night." - Tim Keeley, newmanchesterbands website - 19th April 2002

The headliners were the crowd pleasing minusoneraver. They once again played covers and a few of their own songs to an appreciative audience. You know that when minusoneraver play that everyone who is there will listen to them and enjoy their performance because they are so easy to listen to. The lead singer seemed to be even better and a heard a lot of people comment on how good she was. A firm Clock Tower favourite and will be coming back at the end of the year. newmanchesterbands website - 19th April 2002.

"minusoneraver was the last band but the most anticipated by the audience. It seemed that half of Manchester was there in their support. MOR played covers and their own songs also. The crowd really liked them and they show promise for the future. MOR have done very few gigs before but they managed to play well and were well received." - newmanchesterbands website - 9th April 2002.
Cool female fronted rock band, a blend of grunge, melodia and Alanis style vocals." - Trip69 website - 27th March 2002.

Trace solo gig.  Unsung queen of folk eh?  Very nice.
